ICMR-NARI Sushila Saxena Award (Biennial) for Anthropology for the year 2021 & 2022

ICMR-National AIDS Research Institute (ICMR-NARI) invites applications / nominations from Young Indian Scientists for Sushila Saxena Award in the area of Anthropology research. The award aims at evoking interest in young students to pursue research in the field of entomology. The applicants will be adjudicated on the basis of their publication in the concerned field.

Award carries:

  1. The Award will be conferred once every two years
  2. Cash Award of Rs 50,000/- (Indian Rupees Fifty Thousand only) will be provided to the selected candidate.
  3. A Certificate of Honour will constitute part of the award.
  4. A silver medal will be handed over to the selected candidate along with the aforementioned cash award and certificate of honour.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Any student working in a project of ICMR-NARI anywhere in India and / or any other ICMR institute (ICMR Headquarters being the overarching institutional body) within 4 years of the period (2018-2021) publication.
  • Any student pursuing research or academic work in the field of Anthropology under the guidance of scientists of ICMR-NARI anywhere in India.
  • Any student working in a project in the field of Anthropology with any university within India and funded/supported by ICMR.
  1. This Award is given to Young Student-Scientist pursuing studies in postgraduate (PG) courses in India and fall within the age range of 18-24 years
  2. This Award will be handed over to the postgraduate students or those pursuing Ph.D. (but not yet awarded), whose published research papers would be adjudicated as the best in the field of Anthropology research by a group of experts identified by ICMR-NARI award committee.
  3. Articles which are already published will only be considered. Articles accepted for publications, but yet to appear in e-form or printed version, will not be considered.
  4. The articles should be published during the PG tenure of an applicant and should be published within four years of AWARD-YEAR (award-year inclusive 2018-2021).
  5. The articles which are published under Original Research, Short Research Report, Dispatches, Rapid Communications of original research findings, but NOT Reviews, Perspectives / Opinion or Letters to the Editor that does not contain research findings generated by a potential candidate for the ‘AWARD’ will only be selected.
  6. If an article in a category is selected for the ‘AWARD’, first author, first two authors with equal contribution or joint authors with equal contribution will be selected as AWARDEE. However, each of the joint awardees will receive their separate certificate of honour and separate silver medal, while the amount money will be split equally.
  7. Candidates who have completed their PhD. work or have submitted their thesis will not be considered for this award.
